DR Samia Khan
University of british columbia, canada

Samia Khan is an Associate Professor of Education. Dr. Khan graduated from the University of Alberta with degrees in science and education. Samia worked as a scientist, and following her degree in education, worked as a Canadian public-school science teacher. During her time, Dr. Khan  initiated two STEM in-and out of school programs. The first program led to a mandatory science project-based inquiry course and the second led to engagement of youth in science. Both efforts garnered the national Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Technology. Samia completed her masters and dissertation in science education at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, US. By graduation, Dr. Khan  joined the Faculty of Education at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. While at UBC, Dr. Khan has worked to understand how to improve education in STEM. Dr. Khan has published in international peer-reviewed journals in her field, such as: Science Education; Science Teacher Education, and International Journal of Science Education. She has also garnered continuous funding from the US, Canada, and the UK and been awarded a UBC Research Award and the Canadian Society for the Study of Education’s New Scholar Award for her research. Dr. Samia Khan is formerly the Associate Dean of Research and a Chair of Education in the School of Education and Social Work at UoD in the UK. Her leadership role in the UK was to build the research profile of the institution and research capacity of senior and emerging scholars in education.  She regularly consults for governments on STEM Education.

Dr Chatree Faikhamta
Kasetsart University, Thailand

Chatree Faikhamta is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education, Kasetsart University, Thailand. He has taught a full range of undergraduate and graduate courses in science education such as chemistry methods course, research design in science education, science teacher professional development, etc. His research areas focus on STEM education, pedagogical content knowledge (PCK), self-study research and action research. He directed the nationally funded Developing PCK-based professional development program for prospective science teachers and their school supervisors. Chatree is involved in collaborative research in many countries such as Canada, Japan, Korea, Spain, Taiwan and UK.

Dr Nguyen Van Bien
Hanoi National University of Education, Vietnam

Dr Nguyen Van Bien is Associate Professor of Physics Education at Hanoi National University of Education. He received his undergraduate degree from Hanoi National University of Education and his Ph.D. in physics education from University of Koblenz Landau (Germany) in 2007. He has been at Hanoi National University of Education since 2001, and has served as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Physics since 2012. He is now a national consultant on STEM Education of SESDP2 (Second Secondary Education Sector Development Program). His current research effort is devoted entirely to physics education at high school and college level. He has given courses such as “Physics high school curriculum analysis”, “Integrated science education”, “Assessment in physics education” and “ICT in physics education” for undergraduate and postgraduate students in physics education. He is a research project leader: Building simple apparatus for use in teaching mechanics session in the high school physics (2008), Application of active teaching methods in high school physics (2009), Investigation model of teacher physics books: Teaching and Learning Physics course towards innovation of teaching methods (co-chair) (2010), Open ended experiments for training experimental skills of physics teacher students (2012). He has published articles, books on constructing physics apparatus, active learning in high school physics and STEM education.

DR R.Ahmad Zaky El Islami
Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Indonesia

R. Ahmad Zaky El Islami is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Science Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Indonesia and Editor in Chief of Jurnal Penelitian dan Pembelajaran IPA which indexed by Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) of Web of Science (WoS) since 2015. He graduated with a bachelor degree in chemistry education from Universitas Islam Negeri Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Indonesia, in year 2010, and a master degree in natural sciences education from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, in year 2013, and a Ph.D. degree in science education from Kasetsart University, Thailand, in the year 2022. His research focuses on Science Education, Science Learning, Scientific Literacy, Self-Confidence, and STEM Education. He has published two books and has also published articles in national and international journals  indexed by scopus, web of science, ERIC and other indexing machines such as: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pembelajaran IPA from Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Curriculum Perspectives from Springer, Sustainability from MDPI, Asia-Pasific Social Science Review from De La Salle University, and International Journal of Educational Research Open from Elsevier. He is a lecturer of Basic Chemistry, Thermodynamics, Philosophy of Education, Curriculum and Learning, Modern Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Integrated Science Learning.

DR Vipavadee Khwaengmake
Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University, Thailand

Vipavadee Khwaengmake is a lecturer in Science at the Faculty of Education, Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University, Thailand since 2015. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Biology from Prince of Songkla University, Songkhla, Thailand in 2007 and graduated with a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Biotechnology from Thammasat University, Bangkok, Thailand in 2012 and a Ph.D in Science Education at Kasetsart University, Thailand in 2022. Her advisor is Associate Professor Dr. Chatree Faikhamta. Her Ph.D. focused on  “How to develop a STEM method course” and “How to enhance STEM-PCK in pre-service science teachers”.

DR Nguyen Thi To Khuyen
Hanoi National University of Education, VIETNAM

Nguyen is a lecturer in the Faculty of Physics, Hanoi National University of Education. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s certification from the Faculty of Physics at Hanoi National University of Education. Her Master thesis was related to teaching and learning STEM, namely developing STEM activities on Nano Technology for lower secondary pupils. Then she studied in the Graduate Institute of Science Education, National Taiwan Normal University. Her research areas focus on teacher professional development in STEM education.

Dr Indah Juwita Sari
UNIVERSITAS SULTAN AGENG TIRTAYASA, INDONESIA

Indah Juwita Sari is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biology Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa since 2015. She graduated with a bachelor degree in biology education from Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Indonesia, in the year 2012, and a master degree in biology from Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia, in the year 2015, and a Ph.D. degree in science education from Kasetsart University, Thailand, in the year 2022. Her research focuses on Biology Education, Bioinformatics Education, and Computational Thinking, Molecular Genetics, and Microbiology. She has published one book as well as articles in national and international journals indexed by scopus, WoS, ERIC, and other indexing machines such as Biodiversitas from Universitas Sebelas Maret, Jurnal Penelitian dan Pembelajaran IPA from Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa, Curriculum Perspectives from Springer, Sustainability from MDPI, Asia-Pasific Social Science Review from De La Salle University. She is a lecturer of general biology, microbiology, biotechnology, biology cell, evolution, and media in biology learning.

DR Le Hai My Ngan
HO CHI MINH CITY UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION, VIETNAM

Le Hai My Ngan is a lecturer in the Physics Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education (HCMUE). She holds a bachelor’s and master’s certification from the Physics Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Education. Her master thesis was related to inquiry learning in molecular physics and thermodynamics for high school students. Then she studied for a PhD at the Faculty of Physics, Hanoi National University of Education, Vietnam. Her research focuses on STEM education for secondary students in formal learning. She has participated in some STEM education projects of HCMUE and the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam.

Tharuesean Prasoplarb
KASETSART UNIVERSITY, THAILAND

Tharuesean Prasoplarba is a masters student in Science Education at Kasetsart University, Thailand. This program is for those graduated with BSc and BEng and includes coursework as a pre-service teacher at the Kasetsart University Laboratory School Center for Educational Research and Development. His previous research was in the field of STEM Education, Project-Based Learning, Critical Thinking Skills and Creativity Skills. He conducted research on student development in the classroom. Tharuesean Prasoplarba will continue with research in the field of teacher development.

ANUPONG PRAISRI
KASETSART UNIVERSITY, THAILAND

 Anupong Praisri is an in-service teacher at Nareerat School Phrae, Thailand since 2018. Also, he is currently a Ph.D. student in Science Education at Kasetsart University (KU), Thailand. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Chemistry from KU in 2014 and graduated with a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Science Education KU in 2017 as well. His PhD advisor is Associate Professor Dr. Chatree Faikhamta. Anupong is working on science teachers’ epistemic knowledge about models and modeling and enhancing their epistemic understanding and practice of modeling through Lesson Study (LS).

Song Xue
University of dundee, scotland

Song Xue is a Ph.D. student at the School of Education and Social Work, the University of Dundee. Prior to joining the faculty at the University of Dundee, he finished his postgraduate studies in the field of chemistry education in the Zhejiang Normal University, China. During his postgraduate, he worked on teaching models and modeling. His research mainly focused on the nature of the scientific model and developing a modeling strategy to promote student’s modeling in science. He had overseas educational experience in Kaohsiung normal University, Taiwan and Ohio State University, USA. Song is working on technology-enhanced science education and aims to utilize new digital technologies in his research.
